Ticket Machu Picchu is an electronic ticket that provides access to the Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu and all its attractions. Unlike the standard ticket, this can be booked online from home. On the day of entering the Wonder of the World, the visitor must only show the digital version (Tablet, Smartphone) or print the electronic ticket along with the passport or identity document with which the reservation was made. There are 4 types of tickets which provide different experiences for tourists:

  • Ticket Machu Picchu Only – 5000 daily spaces available.
  • Ticket Machu Picchu + Huayna Picchu400 daily spaces available.
  • Ticket Machu Picchu + Mountain800 daily spaces available.

How is the ticket purchase process?

Getting the Machu Picchu Ticket is easy and fast. You should only follow the following 4 steps. Once the booking process is completed, in less than 24 hours (48 weekends) you will receive the tickets in your email.

  • Check availability – Make sure there is the availability of the type of ticket of your choice. Choose the time or income shift.
  • Make the reservation – Fill in the personal information and the number of people requesting a ticket. Do not forget to add the email to which you will receive your tickets. And ready!
  • Make the payment – Check the PayPal payment form (accepts credit and debit cards) that you will receive in your email. Fill in the personal information and make the respective payment. Another option is to do it through Western Union.
  • Receive the ticket – After successfully completing the booking process, in less than 24 hours (48 hours on weekends) you will receive an email with the electronic ticket. Print it as many times as you want or present it in digital format (Tablet, Smartphone) the day you enter Machu Picchu.

What are the entry times?

Machu Picchu receives more than one million visitors a year. For the best security and transit of tourists, the authorities arranged schedules and entry shifts. This, in addition, allows us to take better care of and preserve the Wonder of the World.

    Morning shift: 6:00 a.m. at 12:00 a.m.

    Afternoon shift: 12:00 a.m. at  05:30 p.m.

  • Ticket Machu Picchu + Huayna Picchu

    1st time: 07:00 a.m. at 08:00 a.m.

    2nd schedule: 10:00 a.m. at 11:00 a.m.

  • Ticket Machu Picchu + Mountain

    1st time: 07:00 a.m. at 08:00 a.m.

    2nd schedule: 09:00 a.m. at 10:00 a.m.

  • Ticket Machu Picchu + Museum

    Morning shift: 6:00 a.m. at 12:00 a.m.

    Afternoon shift: 12:00 a.m. at 05:30 p.m.

How long before booking the ticket?

Machu Picchu is one of the favorite destinations of tourists around the world. Due to this, the demand for tickets increases every year. Those interested in knowing the Wonder of the World should book their ticket in advance. This especially if they wish to enter during the high season of tourism (from March to October).

Costs vary according to the type of Machu Picchu Ticket. All include the entrance to the Inca Citadel. Prices also vary if the visitor is a foreigner, university student, minor or member of the Andean Community of Nations (CAN).

There are discounts?

There are discounts for university students, minors and members of the Andean Community of Nations. Children under 8 years old do not pay. To access these benefits, the visitor must comply with the following conditions.

  • University students: undergraduate students and under 25s.
  • Minors: citizen of any country between 8 and 17 years old.
  • Members of the CAN: citizen of Peru, Colombia, Ecuador or Bolivia.

What documents do you need?

All visitors must send a copy in digital format (PDF) of the passport or current identity document. In addition, when arriving in Peruvian territory they must do the same with the Andean Migration Card (TAM) that will be delivered to the airport. Tourists who wish to access the discounts must also send the following documents:

  • University students: valid university card.
  • Minors: updated identity document.
  • Members of the CAN: updated identity document.

Is it safe to acquire the Machu Picchu Ticket?

Ticket Machu Picchu is a web platform authorized by the Peruvian authorities to issue the ticket to the Wonder of the World in its 4 forms. The process is fast and safe. These are some of the many reasons that guarantee customer safety:

  • The platform has an SSL security certificate, which protects all the data provided by the client.
  • The website has the respective authorizations of the Ministry of Culture of Peru.

If I am wrong in my personal data?

To enter Machu Picchu, the personal information that appears on your identity document or passport must match the information recorded on the ticket. If the ticket is still not issued, you can change any mistake in your personal data without any penalty. However, if it has already been issued, you must pay a penalty for rectification. This procedure can be done only once. The discount varies according to the time before the procedure is requested.

  • 72 hours before the day of entry: penalty of 40% of the value of the ticket.
  • 4-7 days before the day of admission: penalty of 30% of the value of the ticket.
  • 8 to more days before the day of admission: penalty of 15% of the value of the ticket.

The personal data that can be rectified are the names, the document number, the age and the date of entry (according to availability). With respect to the day chosen for the visit, this can be changed for the next day or the previous day without any penalty.

Are there returns?

The ticket only allows entry to Machu Picchu on the day fixed on the ticket. If the visitor did not enter on the appointed day there are no refunds. However, it is possible to receive a refund when canceling a ticket before the visit date. This procedure must be done at least 72 hours before the date of entry into the Wonder of the World.

  • Refunds and cancellations only proceed with tickets purchased on this web platform.
  • The client must send an email requesting cancellation and refund.
  • The refund is 65% of the value of the ticket (penalty of 35%).
  • If the ticket has been modified previously, cancellation or refund cannot be made.
  • The refund is made in the same way in which the payment was made and within a maximum period of 48 hours prior to the date of entry to Machu Picchu consigned in the ticket.
  • If the client booked a ticket with no available space, 100% of the value of the ticket will be refunded.

What happens if I lose my ticket?

The Machu Picchu Ticket can be reprinted as many times as you want. Another option is to present it on a mobile device (Tablet, Smartphone) the day of its entry into the Inca Citadel. If you can not access your email and access your electronic ticket, you can request a copy in our offices as many times as you need and at no cost.
