What are the types of Machu Picchu ticket?
The Ticket Machu Picchu allows the entrance to the Wonder of the World and all its attractions.
However, to access the Huayna Picchu, the Machu Picchu Mountain and the Site Museum another type of ticket is needed.
In total there are 4 types of tickets, all allow entry to the Inca Citadel:
Ticket Machu Picchu Only
(5000 people per day) – The tourist accesses the Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu in 9 turns:
Morning Shift: 6 a.m. – 12 p.m.
- Entry ticket to Machu Picchu starting at 6 a.m.
- Entry ticket to Machu Picchu starting at 7 a.m.
- Entry ticket to Machu Picchu starting at 8 a.m.

Ticket Machu Picchu + Huayna Picchu
(400 people per day) – The tourist enters the famous mountain Huayna Picchu and Machu Picchu in 2 shifts:
Group 1: Machu Picchu from 6 a.m. or 7 a.m. (according to the ticket) / Ingreso Huayna Picchu from 7 a.m. – 8 a.m.
Group 2: Machu Picchu from 8 a.m. / Join Huayna Picchu from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Ticket Machu Picchu + Mountain
(800 people per day): The visitor accesses the Inca Citadel and the Machu Picchu Mountain.
Group 1: Machu Picchu from 6 a.m. or 7 a.m. (according to the ticket) / Entrance to the Mountain from 7 a.m. – 8 a.m.
Group 2: Machu Picchu from 8 a.m. / Join the Mountain from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m.
Ticket Machu Picchu + Museum
(According to the availability of Machu Picchu Solo): The visitor accesses the Inca Citadel and the Machu Picchu Site Museum.
Machu Picchu entrance: from 6 a.m.
Museum Entrance: from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
*After visiting the Inca Citadel, you can enter the Site Museum from 09:00 a.m. until 04:30 p.m.

Discounts for minors (8-17 years)
Minors (from 8 to 17 years old) of all nationalities have access to a discount of the value of the ticket to Machu Picchu in any of its 4 types. To access this benefit, the following must be taken into account:
- Make the respective reservation.
- Send a copy or image in digital format of the identity document or passport that certifies the minor’s age.
- The Huayna Picchu Mountain is only allowed for people over 12 years old. The other types of tickets are allowed to visitors of all ages.
Discounts for university students
Undergraduate and under 25 students of all nationalities have access to a discount of the value of the ticket to Machu Picchu in any of its 4 types. In order to access this benefit, the following must be taken into account.
- Make the respective reservation.
- Send a copy or image in digital format of the valid university card issued by your university in addition to the passport or respective identity document.
Discounts for citizens of the Andean Community
The citizens of the Andean Community (Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador and Colombia) have access to a discount of the value of the ticket to Machu Picchu in any of its 4 types. To access this benefit, the following must be taken into account:
- Make the respective reservation.
- Send a copy or digital image of the passport or identity document that certifies the nationality of the visitor.

Discounts for children under 8 years
Children under 8 years of age of all nationalities do not pay the value of the ticket to Machu Picchu. To access this benefit, the following must be taken into account:
- Children under 8 years of age enter the Inca Citadel, proving their age with an identity document or passport when entering the Wonder of the World.
- Children under 8 years old can not enter without the company of parents, legal guardians or relatives. All must be identified in the control pot.
Free entrance to the Machu Picchu Museum
The Machu Picchu Museum ‘Manuel Chávez Ballón’ offers free entry in the late shift (from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.).
All tourists (of any nationality and age) can access this benefit simply by showing their passport or identity document at the entrance gate.
To access the Museum in the morning shift, you must reserve the Machu Picchu + Museum ticket or buy the entrance ticket directly in the town of Aguas Calientes.
The Machu Picchu Museum is located on the Hiram Bingham road in the town of Aguas Calientes (at Puente Ruinas).

Is the ISIC card valid to access the student discount in Machu Picchu?
No. The ISIC international student card is no longer valid to buy the Machu Picchu entrance with a student discount. Currently, the current university card is the only valid document for this benefit.
Can foreigners living in Peru access the Machu Picchu discount?
Yes. Foreigners residing in Peru, Colombia, Ecuador or Bolivia can access the discount by making a reservation with their immigration card in the mentioned countries.
Do children under 8 enter the Huayna Picchu free?
No. Entrance to the Huayna Picchu mountain is only allowed to people over 12 years old. Teenagers (from 12 to 17 years old) have access to a discount on the Machu Picchu + Huayna Picchu ticket.
