Ticket Machu Picchu and the Andean Migration Card (TAM)
The Andean Migration Card (TAM) is a document that is given to all visitors and tourists who enter the member countries of the Andean Community of Nations (CAN) Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. It is a document of obligatory migratory control that allows the entrance and exit of the Peruvian territory and of the CAN in general.
How and when do I get the TAM?
The Andean Migration Card is given to visitors and/or tourists at the moment they enter Peru. Admission to Peruvian territory can be by air or land, and depending on the case, you will be given an Andean card virtual or physical.
1Card of Andean Migration Virtual:
- The TAM Virtual is delivered when you enter Peru by air through the Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima. At the airport there are machines that automatically capture the passport and travel ticket data of the visitor, they will capture an image of you and your fingerprint, in this way the Andina Virtual Card will be generated and sent to your email.
- Once this process is finished, you will also be issued a printed voucher of your Virtual TAM, which will be stamped indicating your date of entry into the country. It is precisely this voucher, a copy, which you have to send us, as part of the process of booking and issuing the Ticket Machu Picchu.
2Andean Physical Migration Card:
- Physical TAM is delivered when entering Peru by land (across borders) or by any other Peruvian airport other than Jorge Chávez Airport. In this case, the immigration authorities will provide you with a physical form, which must be filled in manually with your data, once verified your information, your TAM will be stamped with the date of entry into the country. If you want, the format can be previously downloaded from the website of migrations of the Peruvian State, that way you can have the TAM ready for its respective sealing and thus avoid wasting time.
- A digital copy of the physical TAM is what you have to send us, as part of the process of booking and issuing the Ticket Machu Picchu.
