Student card valid to buy the Ticket Machu Picchu
Students from all over the world from universities and similar institutions of study have a special reduced price to purchase their Ticket Machu Picchu. To do so, they must prove this condition with their student identity card.

What is student ID valid to access the discount?
Currently, in order for a student to qualify for the discount on the purchase of the Machu Picchu Ticket, you must present the “University Student ID Card ” issued by the university or educational institution of similar rank where you are currently studying. This card must show the following information to be valid:
- Name of the University
- Student name
- Student’s photo
- Card valid date
If the card presents all the required information, it will be a suitable document for the student to access the discount. If any of the aforementioned points are missing, the card will not be considered valid.
It is also very important that the validity date registered in the university card is updated to the date on which the reservation of the Ticket Machu Picchu is made, otherwise, the discount will not apply. The student must also verify that the effective date of the card is maintained until the day of entry into the Inca city since to enter Machu Picchu you will be asked for your original university card.
Which cards are not valid?
The following documents are not valid to access the discount for students in the purchase of the ticket Machu Picchu: ISIC card, certificates of studies, master’s or doctorate cards, among others.
What documents must a student present to access the discount?
The following documents must be sent by the student during the reservation process to be able to access the discount as a student of the Ticket Machu Picchu.
- Copy or digital image of the University Student ID Card.
- Copy or digital image of the passport or identity document.
These digital copies must be sent immediately after having made the reservation, to info@imachupicchu.com, for review. The documentation will be verified and validated by the Ministry of Culture of Peru before proceeding with the respective discount.
If everything is in conformity, the Ticket Machu Picchu will be issued with the special discount at the price for students, and it will be sent to your e-mail.
Important! The day you enter Machu Picchu, at the control gate you must present your printed Ticket Machu Picchu, your original University Student ID Card and your passport or identity document, also original.
